ERP Integration (Contract Management)

Definition

ERP integration in contract management is the technical connection between structured contract terms and live ERP transactional data. It enables continuous reconciliation - rebate accrual, threshold tracking, pricing verification - that neither the CLM nor the ERP can produce alone.

ERP integration in contract management is the technical connection between structured contract terms and live ERP transactional data. It enables continuous reconciliation - rebate accrual, threshold tracking, pricing verification - that neither the CLM nor the ERP can produce alone.

What the integration delivers

The integration reads purchase orders, invoices, sales orders, and payments from the ERP and matches them against contractual pricing, tier structures, and clauses. The output is a live reconciliation - what the ERP recorded versus what the contract entitled the parties to.

What good integration looks like

Near-real-time refresh, tolerant of ERP schema changes, tenant-aware for multi-entity setups, and bidirectional where needed (contract IDs pushed back to ERP records). Batch-only nightly integration is not sufficient for threshold alerting or claim window management.
